Michael J. Rich, B.A., Westminster College; M.A., University of Virginia; Ph.D. (1985), Northwestern University. Previous appointments at Brown University, The Providence Plan and the Brookings Institution. Specialization: public policy, federalism, and urban politics/policy. His current research projects include welfare reform, particularly concerning issues related to collaboration across sectors (public, private, nonprofit) at the local level and issues related to the accessibility of low income households to job opportunities; and an assessment of community building and neighborhood revitalization strategies.
